Reasons for changing to ADSL/Broadband
|
 |
- 24/7
connection to the Internet
ADSL is a type
of Broadband connection; it is permanently connected to
the Internet. This means you can download software updates,
read large e-mails that would normally take hours to download
or anything else you can do on your existing service any
time of the day for as long as you like, without the worry
of Internet call charges or any time restrictions at all.
- Keep your
existing telephone line
ADSL allows
digital data to be sent and received over your existing
BT telephone line by using a new technique of transferring
data.
- Keep your
current telephone line and number
ADSL uses
the same BT line as your fax/telephone without interfering;
make calls while on the Internet over a single telephone
line, without the need to change your telephone/fax
number. A "splitter" will be fitted which
separates the telephone signals from the DSL data signals.
- Speed!!
ADSL uses
a standard telephone line more efficiently meaning much
higher speeds than a 56Kbps modem. 4theNET Internet
Broadband will be offering download speeds of up to
2000Kbps.
ADSL is
an excellent alternative to ISDN and leased lines

Please Note!
This new service
requires a BT
telephone line and you need to be within the service area of
an ADSL enabled exchange.
